India Is About To Meet Its Most Inspiring Team Blue: Rajveer Singh Wraps Documentary on Wheelchair Cricket Heroes

Mumbai: After weeks of relentless effort, extreme weather conditions, and countless hours on the field, filming has officially concluded for The Other Side of Team Blue, an upcoming documentary directed by Rajveer Singh (@rajveer.live) that shines a spotlight on India’s wheelchair cricket heroes.

Marking Rajveer Singh’s directorial debut, the documentary was filmed at Payyade Sports Club, Borivali, with the support of the International Council of Wheelchair Cricket and the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India. Featuring more than 30 wheelchair cricketers, the project aims to bring national attention to athletes whose achievements and inspiring journeys have remained largely outside the mainstream spotlight.

Shot in Mumbai’s scorching summer heat, often touching 42°C to 45°C, the documentary demanded extraordinary commitment from both the athletes and crew. Despite the challenging conditions, filming continued with a single objective to tell stories that deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

At the heart of the documentary are remarkable achievements and inspiring journeys, including the story of wheelchair cricketer Parshuram, whose incredible innings of 186 runs against Pakistan remains one of the most inspiring achievements in wheelchair cricket. The documentary also highlights the story of Shahid, a wheelchair wicketkeeper whose passion, dedication, and commitment to the sport exemplify the spirit of athletes who continue to push boundaries despite immense challenges.

Through powerful interviews, real-life experiences, and cinematic storytelling, the film captures a side of Indian cricket that many people have never witnessed before one built on resilience, sacrifice, determination, and an unwavering desire to represent the nation with pride.

Speaking about the project, Rajveer Singh said the documentary was never intended to be just a sports film, but a platform to celebrate athletes whose stories deserve national recognition.

Directors of Photography Harsh Mathre and Shub Mathre elevated the documentary through their exceptional cinematography, capturing powerful visuals and authentic moments that give The Other Side of Team Blue its striking cinematic identity.

The documentary also received support from Global Advertisement, Shri Radhe Maa Charitable Trust, MM Mithaiwala, Bat Factory Mumbai, Donear Group, Clear Pani, & Body Profuse, while media support was extended by Happen Recently, Josh Bharat, and News24.

With filming now complete, The Other Side of Team Blue officially enters post-production. Editing, sound design, music composition, and final finishing work are now underway before the documentary is unveiled to audiences.

More than a documentary, this is a tribute to athletes who never asked for sympathy but only recognition. Because beyond the headlines, beyond the fame, and beyond the spotlight, another Team Blue has always existed. And now, India is finally about to meet them.
